Should I continue? The battle and fight scenes are magnificently done with superb special effects and sound design, however, I find the story to be rather boring and I honestly don't care about any of the characters, unlike I did with BoB right from the start. I realize that the Pacific has the disadvantage that the writers couldn't interview the real soldiers who were in the battles unlike Bob.
Should I continue? My time is limited and I hate watching things that feel like a chore

I had the same exact reaction. It was good but I could never watch it again. BofB I could watch once a year and always enjoy it. The story of the Pacific is brutal, fascinating, horrific and heroic. As presented in this miniseries, it is almost unbearable to watch. It doesn't help when the lead characters are not people you have much empathy for. Wanted to love it I just couldn't.

It definitely didn't live up to the "BoB in the South Pacific" hype, but I stuck it out and watched the whole series. It's very cold and dry compared to BoB, which had a great cast with several extremely likable characters. I can't remember this show having a single one. I can't remember much of anything about this show in general. It was good on a technical level, but it was very forgettable. However I don't regret watching it, in fact the reason I'm here is that I intend to re-watch it for the first time in the near future.

Yes you should continue, and you are not alone. If the Sledge story wasn't there, no one would have finished the Pacific.

Alright, thanks. Maybe I'll watch one every weekend.

Keep going.
It gets better once the Sledge story starts properly.
