<p dir="auto">If you were captured, then the Japanese radio network, NHK, could broadcast the fact that you were captured and name your family members, and give your specific hometown address.<br />
NHK frequently did this anyway, but the American policy was to cut down giving the enemy propaganda value regarding specific individuals.</p>
