<p dir="auto">what or who is national Lampoon.<br />
ive seen their name in front of a few films proporting tpo be comedies, but the only thing they had in common was that they were anything but funny.<br />
are they a a magazine, like Mad, or a comedy organisation.  I confess i have no idea who they are<br />
Anyone who can help is a real hero.</p>

<p dir="auto">It used to be a funny magazine back in the '70's.  A lot of great writers worked there, including John Hughes, the Breakfast Club director.  When the Lampoon hit it big with "Animal House" they started slapping the "National Lampoon" name on any piece of sheet comedy that cost more than 58 cents to make.  Now it's a very unfunny joke, and the National Lampoon name only means that a film is bottom of the barrel and a waste of time.</p>
