I've seen some users complaining about the "drama twist" over a Sandler's movie advertised as a comedy.
But what about the other way around? What if the comedy aspects of the story are completely wiped? The movie has strong emotional moments, some of them already mentioned in the forum (the scene with the father, the ending in the parking lot and others).
Definitely, I would like to see the same movie with a more darker tone. Keeping the powerful message, hitting hard about bad decisions in life, complexity of relationships, etc, all mixed with fantasy/science fiction. Something in the vein of "Vanilla Sky", "Bicentennial Man" or "Eternal Sunshine". Of course, without Adam Sandler in it, not because I dislike him, but because it wouldn't be the right role for him.
What do you think?

I think the premise itself leads towards comedic aspects. Im not saying remove the drama because you lose most of the story and the overall message but they executed funny things; messing with people while on pause, revisiting humorous events from the past, while the future doesnt have to be funny they took advantage and made pop culture jokes.

That would be excellent, but what I would really like is a TV-show based on the movie.
