<p dir="auto">Obviously I prefer the 1953 version (as any sane film viewer would <img src="https://filmglance.com/discuss/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f600.png?v=8570fb93240" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--grinning" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":grinning:" alt="😀" />) and it's a bit handicapped by being a Tom Cruise - Steven Spielberg film (neither being on my favourites list), but despite all this I'll concede it's a watchable pop-corn movie.<br />
I still wonder what it would be like if they just filmed the damn book though! Heck, you could even use the Stephen Baxter 'sequel' if they then wanted to keep going.<br />
I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers - and the bastards let me down!</p>

<p dir="auto">The action was too "in your face", and it's easily my least favorite film of the 2000's, or tied with the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still.</p>
