I couldn't shake her character from ugly betty, but after rewatching it years later I appreciated her character a lot more.

I think, in the original run, a lot of the enjoyment was dampened by her basically being Edie 2.0 and the Nicolette Sheridan drama (that's still on-going - imagine that!).
I love Vanessa Williams and her addition to the cast was great.

I guess that's true. I just felt that the spotlight should have been all on the original wives, but Renee deserved her place. I do love her love story with Ben.

Not really; in some towel scenes you can tell they are not at all perky (no judgment here; that's what happens to naturally larger ones). Bree had that skinny-woman weird deflated chest, and Gabi didn't actually have the best shape under her clothes. Susan had the best boobs and body.
Anyway, OP, I enjoyed Renee as well, athough her finale story should have been much smaller.
