I'm watching the episode where Tom and Lynette go to this conference, and she is furious that she doesn't get to go to the lectures.
To my way of thinking, she acted pretty entitled. Yes, she might be a smart cookie, and seemed even better at business than her husband. Yes, if she hadn't taken time out for her family she would have probably been high on the corporate ladder.
But, for whatever reasons she was not at that point a hotshot president or CEO that had earned an invite to this thing. Basically, she expected full access to the conference for being married to a CFO.
If she was not pleased with the events that were offered to the +1s, she could have left and done something more interesting to her. The talks where just not for spouses, not totally unreasonable.

I don't see any reason why she should have been furious. I could see disappointment over being left out and regret for her decision not to be part of the business world, but her response was very immature. I think she should have enjoyed the other activities (or tried to without drawing attention to herself.) At home she could have said something like "You know all those seminars you went to sounded so interesting. It reminded me of how much I loved being out there in the business world. I really would like to find something again."
It wasn't all about her. She was too presumptuous. Probably even insulting to the plus ones who were enjoying themselves.
