Seasons 1, 3, and 4 like others have said. I never rewatch anything from the later seasons. In my opinion, they ruined the show by ending it the way they did. Ugh.

I think all but season 5 is rewatchable for Desperate Housewives. The 5 year jump in the storyline wasn't worth it. Every other season though is enjoyable in its own way.

Season 1 of course. BUT, I also find myself re-watching season 3-4 as well. It's a really good storyline buildup over two seasons. It then peaks at the season 4 finale. After that, I've never really cared to re-watch any of the season (and come to think of it, I never did. They weren't that great. It's not like Sex and the City, you can re-watch every season and it doesn't get old). Whenever I recommend Desperate Housewives, I always say watch season 1 and then watch season 3-4.

Season 1 of course, it was perfection.
Season 4 is damn near perfect IMO. After the last batch of awful episodes in S3 this season was like a breath of fresh air. The colors seemed brighter, no Mike and Susan drama, Gabby and Carlos were united, Lynette's cancer storyline was great, Polly Bergen, Bree and Orson were at their all time greatest, the characters interacted in almost all episodes, a pretty damn interesting mystery that I was into, terrific dramatic scenes such as Bree and Danielle after giving birth, hilarious situations such as stoned Lynette and Lee calling out Susan.
The season benefited from the writers strike, 17 episodes with no filler.

I love season 4. For me season 4 was a perfect season, and there wasn't any storylines that I disliked. It's also the very first season that I watched
I also like season 1.

Really interesting to see these comments! I actually find it hard to force myself to watch season 1. I personally prefer the campier episodes of later seasons like season 5 and 6.

Season 1, without a doubt. That season was full of the best storylines, drama, and had viewers on the edge of their seat each episode; I also really enjoyed Season 3 and 4 wasn't bad. Season 5 was when it started to go downhill and the show took more of a comedic route and just became hard to sit through.

For me it would be seasons 1 and 4. I also liked some of season 7, mainly because it sort of went back to reviving the Paul, Zach and Felicia storyline (beyond that I didn't care much for the season, but I enjoyed the Paul storyline)

Same. I love a good mystery and anything with one I love. No matter how cheesy it is.

Hands down, season 1. It was the original storyline regarding Mary Alice and her suicide that got me hooked on the show. After that seasons 3 and 4 were next. I've always have loved a good mystery. I thought the show was quirky, original and unique. It came out of the 2004-2005 season the same year another interesting television show, also from Disney/ABC, Lost. They both started out strong but unfortunately, disappointed this fan of both shows and their outcomes.

Season 1 is the best season, I think most of us would agree. But it can be frustrating to watch a show start and build up if you're just looking to casually rewatch. Seasons 3 and 4 are great for this, in my opinion, because you're in the thick of the story already and those seasons are very good. Season 6 is also great for rewatching, in my opinion.
