Completely baffles me that even Teri Hatcher got an Emmy nomination in season 1 and Eva Longoria didn't. Granted her character perhaps didn't have as many layers initially, but she absolutely nailed it!

I agree but the Emmy Awards have a long history of snubbing popular shows and if you look at some list of the most popular TV shows of all time more than half of them were never even up for an Emmy which is why I don't usually take the ceremony seriously since it is chosen on personal tastes and not popularity much like the Grammy Awards, the Oscars and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

I think all 4 actresses deserved at least a nomination.
One thing I would like to note about Felicity is that she made her character's characteristics seem real. Have you noticed that she always tends to scratch her head at random times or wipe her nose or forehead with her wrist when she's stressed.
And I'll never forget the look on Marcia's face when she checked herself into the psychiatric home and told the receptionist "I'm about to have a nervous breakdown".

I'm not really all that surprised. Firstly, let me say that the Emmys can get pretty political, so it's never a great indicator for the quality of a show or the people involved in it. But, for the sake of argument, I'll say that while Eva has always been good as Gaby, she never truly seemed to be challenged, especially in the first season. She was always entertaining, but she never really hit it out of the park with either dramatic or comedic storylines. In my opinion, by the time she had started delivering great performances, the show had already fallen out of grace with the awards circuit.

I think it was more of an issue of two things that shouldn't be part of the criteria, of youth and experience.
The other nominees were in their 40's, more that ten years older than Eva and all had many years of TV experience under their belt, and were regulars on a different prime-time TV series that lasted multiple seasons, and maybe the voters wanted to reward them for that.
Or just because there were a limted number of spots on the ballot.

Teri Hatcher? Excellent actress with equal skill set in both comedy and drama. Of the 4 leads, Teri was the only one who was consistently given an equal amount of comedic stories and dramatic ones.
LMAO!!
What kind of drugs are you on, girl?
Teri Hatcher an excellent actress? In which dimension? Since when? She's an awful actress. She's not even worthy of the title "actress". She was the least skilled and the least talented of the 4. She sucked at drama and she was mediocre with comedy.

No you're right, I shouldn't have said "even" Teri Hatcher. She played her role well, I think I just found her whole "clumsy damsel in distress" schtick a little grating at times. Probably more the way her character was written than her actual performance. I just find it bizarre that Eva Longoria wasn't considered (in the academy's eyes anyway) to be on the same par as the other actresses. Bit of a kick in the teeth really.

I would see Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman as stronger in terms of their acting.
