He certainly looked like him. I like the idea that in this world, Santa Claus exists, but an old, tired guy as opposed to being a "jolly old Elf".

That'd be a pretty good tie into why Professor Broom tells Hellboy the story of the King and Golden army during the opening Christmas scene.
