<p dir="auto">They are the most irritating characters in the movie. Spoiled, whiny, manipulative.  The only ones who could tolerate being around those personalities would be those who are exactly like them.</p>

<p dir="auto">I felt bad for Chloe too, she really did love her husband.  Tom seemed like he cared about Nola as well.  But he did marry someone else.</p>

<p dir="auto">There was nothing whiny or manipulative about Tom.<br />
Chloe was spoiled and whiny, at least about getting pregnant. She was manipulative in the sense that she saw Chris and wanted him to like her, but that's about it.<br />
The true manipulator was of course Chris. He and Nola steamrolled all over Tom and Chloe.</p>

<p dir="auto">I liked them a great deal. They had some good qualities - they were warm and open to Chris, they did not seem arrogant or snobbish, and they were close to their family. They deserved better than to be used by Chris and Nola. If anything, they were too trusting and naive.</p>
