Well the only connection I make is the obvious one which he illustrates at the beginning of how a lucky player can win the point after the ball hits the net and falls back on one side. Then Chris throws the ring towards the Thames but it hits the barrier and falls back on his side.
In this case, the ring being found gets him off with murder: game, set and match.
I found this film to be shoddy, amateurish, cliched, filled with clunky obvious dialogue and stereotypical characters - but it picked up towards the end. The acting was awful. A victim, I'd say, of Woody filming too fast. I think if he spent more time developing things he'd make deeper films, and get better performances. There's a great idea in this one. Same with Manhattan Murder Mystery, which is basically a hastily made TV movie.
