I know this is a true story and the jury said they were not guilty but they were stupid period!
The government proved their case that they were criminals with illegal activity and millions of dollars of drugs involved and distributed.
There were many cases of stupid jury's throughout our history and this is just one of them.Remember the OJ trial? In more recent days how about the guy who shot his girlfriend to death through the bathroom door thinking it was an intruder (after witnesses said they had a violent argument that night, he got 5 years, he'll be out in 2)!
I'm sure you know of many other casesthe jury system stinks, a judge should be the only one involved. Many of the high priced lawyers would go broke as the criminals would be prosecuted and there would be no sense it hiring them.

Exactly. Also, why criticize the American legal system but give an example of a South African case? The guy who shot his girlfriend in the bathroom after allegedly thinking she was an intruder is Oscar Pistorius. Pistorius was a South African Olympic athlete and the incident and trial occurred in South Africa.

Stupid prosecution. They could've charged them with specific crimes and put most of them in jail, instead they went after "bigger fish" and failed, wasting millions of dollars.
