I understood that Drinklage was cast personally by Lumet based upon his talent, not a likeness to the real Ben Klandis but then I've never seen a picture of Klandis.

dude you didn't answer his question at all. You didn't even reference to it, he was asking if the true person in the real life story was actually a midget like Peter Dinklage, or did they cast Dinklage simply on a great performance (in the audition)
