Well the guy that played Ricky is called Tom Rhys Harries in real life, which Tharries took as being T. Harries and so was put in there as a nod to him. I thought that was cute
Yes, The Doctor did show up like spam and had he said he was a Nigerian prince and wanted to gift a couple of million pounds to Lindsey it wouldn't have been out of place. Ignoring him was fine for anyone to do, let alone someone so purposefully unlikeable as Lindsey.
I think these clues that people see are the very dog whistles that people say are out there for genuine racists and other bad types to hear Bobby. I'd say that anyone who saw this and thought it was a story about racism is probably a racist themselves. And I think that it was written for them when you read about all these hints and cues that they say is there to support their claims.
Long gone are the days when Darmok and Jalad were at Tanagra together when the walls fell (His eyes uncovered!). Now we get a story which was pretty good and then before you get a chance to muse on it the BBC is all "Did you know that The Doctor is gay and black?!?" and everyone is liking and retweeting and going "Oh, I saw that too!" about a story which is pretty much saying how it hates them for being mindless spoiled drones.
I think we'll need to wait for the next Garak tailoring video to drop before we can get any proper eyes on this particular story and see what could have been the message underneath it all (Unless it really was this vapid!).

Well people are saying that the clues were all there and that it was ‘obvious’…was it?! They say an all white cast but I was focusing more on the personality types being vapid social media types…also maybe I just don’t see colour.
They mention how horrible Linda was to Shooty, but she seemed to be behaving more rudely towards Ruby Road to me, forever calling her thick etc.
They talk about how Linny was surprised that the Doctor and Ruby Road were in the same room…well I simply took that to mean that they’re all online in the dot and bubble and no one actually spends time ‘with’ each other.
They say she blocked the Doctor and not Ruby, but the Doctor introduced himself differently as though he was trying to sell her something didn’t he?
I think that this is an episode I might need to watch again.
Ricky has just been feeling really guilty all morning. He even thinks that the Ricky September character was written with him in mind and that is why he was killed off so unceremoniously. I told him that it’s a coincidence! I don’t think that Russell even knows that our Ricky exists and even if he did, how would he have been able to not only predict how he would respond to the episode but also his birth so far ahead of time! What he’s saying isn’t even making sense!
I imagine that there are a lot of easily influenced children out there like Ricky, saying ‘no thank you mother’ to egg and soldiers. RTD what have you wrought?!

I wonder what other crimes we commit all the time but have no idea about?
Maybe we are all genocidal maniacs intent on bringing hell to Earth because we stopped buying Curly Wurlys when they got above 10 pence!
AND Curly Wurleys are brown, which is probably what we should call people with very dark skin instead of black. So that just proves it. Not buying Curly Wurleys just means that you hate everyone who has more melatonin in their skin than you.

You don’t need to worry, you or Ricky. You are both new borns. Tharries has been around a lot longer and I longer still. We have no excuse, us two!
Ricky has been making me feel terrible all morning and hasn’t made me my boiled egg and soldiers. He says that it is ‘good’ punishment though and we will both learn from it. He’s punishing himself too, he’s also not having any egg and soldiers.

Turns out, from looking at everyone who watches stuff and then sends it to their bubbles, a lot of people feel very smart with themselves seeing the racism in the show because it was implied the whole show.
I've either lost my mojo or haven't been plugged into how to pick up these things Bobby.

Never mind, next week it’s the ‘This is so Bridgerton/What the Bridgerton!’ episode where Shooty kisses a man! That will anger a lot of a certain type of audience.

I'd say a solid 7 but with that whole racism thing (Which Tharries didn't bring up) I think I'd bring it down to a 6 Bobby.
Certainly the best of this series (Apart from the Christmas special)

Now………Russell wanted to do a Black Mirror episode but decided to incorporate Doctor Who into it. Black Mirror even Down to the twist…….there’s always a twist at the eeeeeeeeend….

Tharries kind of felt that the metabubble thing was the main thing about Lindsey being cut-off from the rest of the audience.

I think it was a political piece, which is nice, but didn't get the racism part until you mentioned it and it seems that Rubi did during the show (Something I missed first time around) and so I think it was certainly meant to be there.

I didn't hate Lindsey as much, because she had slightly broken her mould, but I still didn't like it because there must have been ways for The Doctor and Rubi to get through.

The Doctor could have two heads and no nose (As Eccles cake joked) and it wouldn't make a difference. I mean the fact that he looks human is nice because we all do but if he didn't for a bit then I think most people would be OK with it if the stories were still worth following.
I really didn't see the whole black thing at all until you mentioned it, but every other episode has had loads of black and Asian descent folk in it and so it must be the push on the BBC to get folk thinking like that - which isn't surprising coming from the BBC and their whole too many white people stuff from this time last year.
Shame, but that's racism for you!
I'm watching it a second time just now. But I know Lindsey is a baddie now, so that bullet (Which could have killed any of them the whole time) is just bidding its time

Yes that is exactly how I feel. I do not see The Doctor as any race or any sexuality. In fact if he is to have a sexuality then regeneration could make him gay, straight, bi or into pots and pans. I do not care!!
Now if I in 2024 don’t give a crap and of course this is the age of ‘woke’ and none binary etc, why the hell would colonised humans in the far off future (who have aliens as a regular feature) care about the colour of someone’s skin?!
However reviewers have told me that they wouldn’t accept help from Shooti because he’s black and that is supposed to be some sort of message.
Anyway seeing as they killed Pinky punky in this one, I thought that I might buy a Pinky Punky from Timmy Mallet’s website.
