Actually, it wasn't hard to get away with back then. There are tons of unsolved murders from that era. Today it is damn near impossible with all the new technology. I found it interesting that Zodiac sent taunting letters and still was never caught though, but I think he had a partner writing the letters and I also think there were two killers.
