I think it may have been GHB (also similar to GBL)? It is a party drug that comes in a liquid form- though I never seen/heard of taking it by sponge! In my experience people use dropper to dispense in a NON ALCOHOLIC beverage (it has a bad taste). Mixing GHB with alcohol makes it much more potent, thus it becomes a "date rape drug" instead of just a normal fun timethe woman in the back seat seemed out of her mind on probably any combination of drugs but that's my guess.
