I had an opportunity to see this as nothing else interested me. When I first heard of it, I laughed. 'Ant-man' ? What next? The way this movie has been made implies that there will be a sequel in the works. This movie introduces us to the character. I was impressed by how the subject matter was handled. High level of maturity.
But let's be honest ant-man would only be able to fight enemies or villains if they were his size. Am I right? How could he take on a normal size person? The villain in this case only turned bad towards the end. I was hoping to see more action, but I was impressed by the special effects and cgi. The scene involving the toy train was admirable. In terms of plot the movie took a while to develop the character. But the second half is well worth it.

No.
How could he take on a normal size person?
Do you mean if he was normal sized or if he was the size of an ant? Because the movie showed he could fight as a normal sized person and explained how he is really powerful as an ant-sized person.
The villain in this case only turned bad towards the end.
Did you not watch the entire movie? He was pretty much bad the whole way through. He wanted to sell the weaponry to whoever had the most cash, and he zapped a guy down to a wad of pink goo.

Your topic title implies you have a beef to pick with Marvel, but then you give a positive review?
Actually, the film shows how Ant-Man is capable of taking on normal-sized foes.
