yeah, my issue was that this is closer to a rorschach test than an actual thought exercise involving critical thinking from an open mind.

it's an internal thought exercise to help you figure out how you'd feel about a sentient machine. to find out if you'd feel about them the same way you feel about sentient biological organisms. and to think about what the essential difference between a machine and a biological organism is.

This thought experiment is well-tread material in philosophy of mind ("Swamp man" is another, more popular example).
Learning such a thing would tell me something interesting about my origins, but this information would have no metaphysical or moral consequences for me. So my answers would be
A1. No, my concept of my self does not change in any truly interesting ways.
A2. Yes, I'm the same person I thought I was in every meaningful sense.
B. Yes, my understanding of the world would change given that I didn't think this sort of bio-tech existed. That would be the extent of it.
C. I'd tell everyone I know since it is truly fascinating information. I'd also want to have a conversation with my mother in particular.
