For some reason I love this movie lol. It's one of those movies that although it has that teen vibe is just really fun and has a really dark side to it as well. It's just one film that I love to watch and I can't understand really why lol . The acting is good but not anything great and the story isn't anything amazing but it is kind of in a class or genre of its own to me . It's like a "teen/thriller/horror" film with a little bit of a love story and throw in the sad beginning and it's just really different. Whatever.. "Disturbia" rocks !!! Lol

i love it too. i love that the tone completely changes about half way through so you essentially get 2 movies in one, a young summer love story and then a horror thriller. and it's done well enough, so that the change isnt so drastic that it takes you out of the movie.
i also am in my 30s and love this movie despite it being about teenagers (i saw it in the theatre on my 24th bday). i think the fact that it does not take place in a high school helps. i probably can no longer relate to the events within a high school, but everyone can relate to a young love story and awkwardly flirting with the new neighbor etc.
the chemistry between the actors is great and the atmosphere and house, and street etc is all very relateable. its fast paced and honestly all around one of the better films in its genre ive ever seen. it is probably in my top 20 list of films despite it being a throwaway popcorn flick. i really enjoy it.

I seem to be drawn to watch it every time it's on as well, was just aired on a channel tonight and I found myself, well, watching it again! Good chemistry between LaBeouf and Roemer, who is particularly alluring in the movie, story is nothing special but just keeps you viewing. It can't be all bad if it has that affect.

I realize your post is from like a year ago but I was going to post the exact same thing. I have no clue why but every time it's on I have to watch it. I like it. Didn't love it. But something about the atmosphere I don't know how to explain. Maybe I miss my teen years being I'm in my 30s now. But I don't watch any teen movie. Something about disturbia I have probably watched it over 40 times. Not start to finish. But if it's on I'll watch. So weird.

Yea, it's just a good all around flick. It's got the right mixture of genres in it along with a good cast as you said. I don't know what happened to these type of thriller/horror/comedy type films. Nowadays it's just either so called "horror" with cheap camera tricks and gore porn or they attempt to make a storyline but it's just so cheesy and bad that it just makes a bad movie already, worse !!.

It's one of my favorites also. Great mix of comedy/thriller/horror. Casting is natural with good chemistry. Asian friend is a riot.
