Saw II was kind of boring and I didn't care for any of the characters.

I haven't seen Saw III yet, but I found Saw II to be a bit disappointing. I was hoping they may have ramped up the intrigue and personal dynamics, but, instead, the characters were flatter and less interesting, the puzzles less true to the notion of the testing of the survival instinct and just seemed more a torture maze. All in all, less intelligent, more gory.
I was wondering if the later installments got better or continued to deteriorate.

Same here, Saw 3 is a masterpiece, the ending is great and Shawnee Smith done a great performance.

Here's "my thing" and this is HOW I saw it.
The Saw movies that were "odd numbered" seemed to be the best to me.
1,3,5 and the last one being Part 7 aka 3D.
I KNOW, I can't be the only one noticing this trend.

Saw 2 is a step above one of those Friday the 13th "teens in peril" exercises. That movie is so standard. Saw 3 is much better.

I agree; Its my favorite Saw film (darkest feel, best ending and Lynn Denlon is my favorite Saw heroine).

I'd never say ANY of the sequels is the best. The original film is still the best. But I do think that this film, III, is the best SEQUEL.

Saw II is way better than Saw III! I love Saw II and it is one of my favorite films along with the first and Saw III is just such a disappointment in comparison. I still think it is good, just not great like the others. I wouldn't say it is as bad as Saw V though

Better than 2 definitely. Just watched em both today and 2 was pretty lame in comparison to 3. Although i can't say 3 was THAT great either, but if i have to compare both, 3 was much better than 2 that's my 2c

Nope, Saw III is by far the worst Saw IMO, although Saw VII isn't far behind.

Well I watched Saw II the other day and didn't think much of it at all- I much preferred the first- but I just watched Saw III and I liked it a hell of a lot more than Saw II! It was great and kept me interested the whole time. I still like the first best so far though

Saw II is great and all, but the fact that it's rated so much higher than III on this site is absolutely mind-boggling to me.
