<p dir="auto">I think fighting the MPAA or proving it's got too much power is useless. What they should be doing is destroying the MPAA's power - get to the reasons why NC-17 movies can't be advertised on tv, or distributed, or whatever it is that the stigma of NC-17 causes.<br />
Once you've killed their power, they won't matter.<br />
And I think it's wrong to imply that censorship against violence is preferable to censorship over sex. It's certainly a double standard, but again it's the wrong approach because the hypocrisy really doesn't matter. It's the power of censors over an industry that is truly objectionable.<br />
And then I finished the movie and realized that the people who give NC17 it's power sit on the board of appeals with the MPAA. So much for that!<br />
What an absolute crock the MPAA is.</p>
