Life can feel like an open prison sometimes. Death feels quite abstract to me, because I assume it to be so far away, decades in the future, so I don't worry about it, although of course any of us could die at any time. It depends on ones beliefs, when faced with it I would think death could be quite terrifying, but the atheist version of death which I subscribe to sounds quite peaceful.
