Yeah, too bad that a lot of those standing ovations are not real and deserved standing ovations.

They'd have to get rid of the audience and maybe fill the seats with busloads full of homeless people.

I'd be like, "Ain't no one gonna tell ME when to applaud!" Imagine if the audience just ignored that guy. I wonder if they'd be blacklisted from attending in the future.

Live studio audiences amuse me because of that. You watch them on TV and it all looks spontaneous but they're being guided.

There is a warm-up guy who wrangles the audience when to stand and when to clap and whatnot. He does that throughout the show and between every commercial break. Basically it’s a lot of sitting then standing and clapping then sitting again. It’s kind of a pain but fun in a weird way also.

No applause signs? Did they use another cue to get the audience to applaud or was it spontaneous?

I liked most of the performances tonight, but I think the aerialist should win.

It was fun but the drive can be a nightmare. I just spent 45 minutes stuck in gridlock in the parking structure. And that was even before dealing with street traffic which was a nightmare. The $18 parking stings a bit too.
I really don’t know who is the front runner. I think the aerialist kid got the best and most compliments. I like the taekwando also. I can imagine both comedians striking a heartstring with the viewing audience The single mom comic is very relatable to a lot of people.

I think it will come down to Jerry's Kid Comic, Quick Change Chick, Singing Nurses or White Boy Wanna Be Hip Hop Magician.

All the judges get cat calls and shout outs. Usually Simon gives a minute for pics and turns around and waves. Before taping starts the women can be seen finishing their makeup and checking their hair in front of everybody. Every once in a while throughput the show one of them will turn around and wave.

Looks like they are doing a lot of prep before the show.
Like checking out lighting and effects on stage. Judges checking things out.
So is there any applause, cheering or cat calls going on at the judges?

I remember when owen Hart fell out of the sky and splattered all over the ring some 20 years ago live on PPV. The next match was The Rock vs HHH or Steve Austin, i don't remember, but what I do remember is they didn't even clean up the blood and they were slipping in it the entire time and acting disgusted.

That was my theory too, about why they tape certain acts first. The show is on a delay anyway, but taping those types of acts early would give them more time to figure out what to do. I assume they wouldn't go on with the show if he died or had a bad injury.

For the most part the show is live. But usually they pre tape one or two acts. The three times I went it was the aerialist kid. Maybe they do it in case he falls and dies. They wouldn’t want that to stream live lol
