I hate prequels. They're boring and the end is often a foregone conclusion. And, like sand, they get everywhere.
But I love Dexter. Seasons 1-4 hold the esteemed position of being my favorite TV show. I'd love to see it return and in top form.
The show ended in such a way as to leave open the possibility for a sequel. The character seems to have accepted he cannot change. He is living alone in Canada and working with Del, Bongoman47, VHS, Corwin. They could easily have Kirk be a minor villain.
Michael C Hall has the acting chops, we know this. Is he still burnt out from the role? If so, a sequel will fail. Also, he is 47 now but like me, he doesn't seem to age much and this should be a nonfactor. Also like me, he attracts psychotic but young and attractive women. Heh heh heh.
Could Dexter be recast for a prequel series, though? And if so, would it be worth it?
Discuss the possibilities my friends, and I will coordinate a plot for force Showtime's hand.
Stop.

They should do a similarly themed show to dexter entitled
[Troll/i]. Each season revolves around a different infamous IMDb troll. Season 1 centers around Ben. Maybe they call the show Ben.

Netflix has taken it upon themselves to take the Dexter concept forward with "You." It's not nearly as good or well written, but nevertheless, it's here.

Sure it could!
If Sheldon can get one than so can Dex.
Would need to be a different set of actors from the original show though.
