Okay, I live in Des Moines so this line particularly amused me. When Roy takes the controls of the old Russian train in Siberia, he somehow knows how to drive it because of the train simulator at the "Railroad Museum in Des Moines." Of course, there is no such place here but that's not really the point. This would be like flying an airplane because you've played Angry Birds on your cellphone.
This movie has so many gaping plot holes that you just give up caring.

Simulators are good enough to teach you to operate.
Roy would've gotten things going faster if the labels weren't in Russian, as he complained about.

Actually, if you've been on a "real" flight simulator long enough you have a good idea how to basically operate an aircraft. Note that he didn't get the train working, he just fired up the engine but could figure out how to turn on the fuel system. An, that was after button pushing like crazy.

The Railroad Museum in Des Moines is closed now on advice of it's lawyers.
Chaos reigns

Wouldnt a more accurate analogy be flying a plane when you have only played MS Flight Simulator?
And that has been done, so Im not sure what your point is.
"beep Mickey Mouse. beep him in the beep with a big rubber beep!"
