In the end, when we see the cat litter, and her pills etc, it gave off the same dark feeling as the end of Martyrs. Anyone agree?
Few movies make me not want to watch them again, and this was one of them.
regardless - 6/10

I totally dug the bummer ending.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

There should be more films like Eden Lake and Funny games imho. I can't think of any other that leaves a similar aftertaste, although I'd love to know. If y'all expected Mel in this film to win in the end, watch any of 98% of thrillers/horror films out there.
What does Tyra say to a guy before love makin'? You wanna be on top?

Funny games left me depressed and nausea I can't watch that movie ever again. It had more of a gripping story involving a families ordeal etc etc

I think it is good sometimes to have the killer be the victor to change things up a bit. So nowadays we can't always expect the victims to get away.
These movies do make me think after though like Eden Lake and Funny Games for example.

I agree, it left me feeling quite miserable and depressed. I just don't understand why the filmmakers didn't get that it should have ended differently. This one definitely goes on my list of movies that I don't want to see again because they are so depressing. Other movies on that list: Seven and Boys don't cry.

Bleak endings usually don't bother me but I was hoping Mel would escape and kill her captor. It was a bit of a letdown considering all they had been through.
