This movie couuld have been a lot better if they would have put just a bit more effort in EVERYTHING.</p>

<p dir="auto">which to me was the best decision in movie history. i just re-watched it and it's still pure perfection. THAT's how you end a friggin horror movie.</p>

<p dir="auto">The pet ending was the one used in the film, which was Darabont's idea. He was offered twice the budget not to use it. The original King ending was left open.</p>

<p dir="auto">Well, Darabont said he turned down TWICE the budget. He had to lose his pet ending though. I think his hubris hurt the film all the way around.</p>
