I think this movie was funny and I have no problem with its "openness" whatsoever. It's just that thinking about it gives me the creeps I dont know why but I don't feel good about many parts, specially the boy who shares his girl with his roomie. I dont know how to explain, but did anyone else feel the same way?

Contrary to what the previous poster said, your posting makes perfectly good sense, even though it's obvious that English isn't your native language. You did a whole lot better than I would do in Persian.
I don't know how much religion has to do with it. I would say that social norms play a much greater part. Of course religion influences social norms, and probably does so more in Iran than in North America. But it's society which directly affects individual attitudes.
Yes, there are indeed huge differences among peoples in the world. And when you are faced with something outside what's common in your life and experience, it's natural to feel discomfort, even when you believe the unfamiliar is better. This is one reason that it's so difficult to overcome discrimination of various kinds even people who believe that discrimination is wrong, feel uncomfortable leaving it behind until they have a chance to experience a different world.

I completely disagree with your opinion, but understand why you may feel that way. Everyone is open to sex in their own way. I've known girls that couldn't stand either giving or receiving oral, yet I know girls that absolutely loved it. I worked with guys that talked about getting bj's all the time, but talk about going down on a woman and they thought it was gross. Everyone has their own comfort level. For me, nothing in this movie surpassed my own sexual comfort level.

There was nothing perverse in this movie. And everything that happened was consensual amongst all the participants and they all were happy come the credits. Sometimes sex is messy and awkward and doesn't progress the way you imagine it will. And finding joy and affirmation in life when that happens is what this movie is all about.

I agree that one can get freaked out by that stuff.
But IMO, there's nothing bad: no violence, no nudity (or, really, did they show the boobs? Oh God). Well yeah, it might be wierd, but the movie takes every theme so gently, that doesn't seem too vulgar.
A guy jacks off on his roommate having sex with his girlfriend. Mmm so? Which part do you feel wrong about? And again, this is the most "extreme" part of the movie.

Interesting post, luboy.
Terms like "perversion" and "taboo" are very much subject to what is considered mainstream practice in society, regardless of what really happens behind closed doors. They say actions speak louder than words, but in the case of sex, propriety is literally defined by what we're willing to say publicly rather than what we're willing to do privately. Strange how backwards that is, isn't it?
I personally try to avoid those terms in anything but a joking way, since we all have our personal definitions of what is and is not perverse. I'm a big fan of the Safe, Sane and Consensual approach, myself. Operating within those guidelines leaves plenty of latitude for a wide variety of practices, without labeling them as inappropriate.
Let's face it, if the enjoyment of sex is perverse, then as a race, we have 10,000+ years of a perverted heritage easily measuring into the tens of billions. Given that, I would label "perversion" as the historical mainstream.
I am not an atomic playboy!

My point though is that I don't see normal sex as being perverted, nor do I think other's should either. If it was a movie about YPF Animals - then it'd be perverted. Even if it was a movie about different fetishes, I'd see it as perverse. But, why is sex considered perverted? Taboo, yesbut perverted?
Am I a pervert for liking sex? What about watching sex? Almost (*almost) everybody has sex in their lives. Your parents did, your grandparents did, etc etc. Maybe it's just me, but I see "perversion" having a negative connotation; and I just don't see how something that everyone does should be called perverse.
This is by no means directed at you - I fully agree with the "you know what the movie's about before watching it"; although unfortunately a lot of people see the title and jump to drastic conclusions without ever giving it a chance - case in point, the Canadian government.

"Is natural to feel creeped out by perversion" -
I don't really see a whole lot of perversion here. I guess I just don't see (relatively normal) sex between two consenting adults as perverted; nor do I think that making a movie about, or discussing the topic of, sex should be seen as perversion.
