What a terrible choice. But if you believe in democratic institutions the choice has to be the crappy president, at least the bum will eventually get voted out. And most dictators are not like Cincinnatus and return to their farm when the political emergency is overthey stick around too long, make bad decisions as they get overly comfortable, and set up their relatives or crony bootlickers to succeed them.

A good dictator beats any other form of government. They can accomplish great things with no interference.
However, succession is the problem. You are likely to end up with a terrible one sooner or laterthen you're screwed.
That's why I would prefer a bad president. At least you're only stuck with that for a few years.

A dictator is already power-abusive by it`s very definition.

Good dictator. If he is good then you don't have to worry about him abusing his power. In his will he might even make the government hold elections, dying in class.

A "good" leader is always better than the lowest common denominator. The good ones are had to find, though.

So can a dictator. A dictator is a position within a republic. Think Sulla or Caesar. In the case of the former his power only lasted a decade then the senate resolved as normal.
Free will is a golden thread running through the frozen matrix of fixed events.

The latter. A president can be kept in check by the other powers in govt. Also can be impeached or not re-elected.
