Like on the street. Not a friend, but a person you worked, studied, and/or partied with some years ago? Just pretend you didn't see them?

I'm about to start a new job. On my last day I plan to buy lunch for all my coworkers as a nice parting gesture, but I have 1 coworker I plan to specifically tell 'If you see me around town, we don't talk, we don't make eye contact, you didn't see me.' Most people I'll smile and nod my head at if I don't stop to talk to them.

All the time, but I much prefer to make eye contact, stare them down and then walk past them without saying a word so they know they've been deliberately ignored.

A few months ago I saw a dude I used to get along really well with at an old job on the train. I got into the car and he was standing. I just looked down and walked to the other end of the car.
But I feel that's justifiable. I don't want to spend a whole subway ride talking to someone I have nothing in common with anymore. If it was on the street or something I'd have said hi.
