Are messageboards not rather normal now as well? Granted, maybe most people wouldn't post even half as much but still. And IMDB is a special place.

Their sugardaddy, the guy who owns the company with the smiley face, is Thatcher Dryden. His company is Dryco and features prominently in the other books.

Dryden? I don't think I recall a Dryden in the book. Good to hear about the girl friends though.

I don't remember if Lola appears but Dryden and Lola's two girl friends do appear again.

and to the English language
Ha! Some of the language towards the end of Random Acts really was painfully contorted, great stuff. I hear Lola has a cameo in one of the other books

the joy of the Womack books is the inventive violence that the characters in dystopian America due to the themselves and to the English language.

Did Speaker for the Dead for a book club recently, wasn't really blown away. Ender's Mary Sue-ness kind of went into overdrive. And the melodrama, my god the melodrama. It was telenovela level. Did have some fairly neat ideas in-between all that though, the Piggies are a great creation.
