Young Griff has no plot in the show, thank god.

Yeah they should have done a much simpler version of Dorne. Perhaps we only a needed a couple of scenes of Doran talking about how he is biding his time for Dany and that's it. We didn't need Jaime's stupid mission sneaking in or the terrible Sand Snake fight and dialogue. With less Dorne scenes, season 5 could've spent more time building up the Greyjoys, instead of rushing that whole kingsmoot plot.

I think it was a good decision. They cut most filler. The only thing they cut that they should have not was the books' Dorne plotline.

They basically condensed and merged the Young Griff plot with Dany's, and perhaps Jon will take elements of that also, being a Targ and all. They probably also did away with LS, in order to give her attributes to Sansa and Arya. It's all condensing and simplifying.

Umm book!Dany also has Dorne's support, and when Cersei kills the Tyrells in the books she will probably have HighGarden as well.
They've probably cut young Griff because he's just filler for Dany before she goes to Westeros. He's likely dead by the end of book 6.

Sounds like the Dance of Dragons has been replaced by Dany vs. Lannisters battle. Except in the show it's Dany who has the Tyrell/Martell support, as well as Varys'.
Similar to how the Hype Sparrow publicly supported Tommmen last season instead of fAegon (the likely book scenario).
Meanwhile, the situation with Jorah's greyscale is probably a Connington book spoiler.
