I agree on it being stupid based off the whole lack of character development and all that, but if Martin intended it, it's going to happen.

I don't like Dany and Jon because they're too similar. There isn't much time for character development between them. And it's just to stupid and disney-ish.

I pretty much thought they were gunna hook up after reading that Danys pov in the House of the Undying. About her third love having to do with a winter rose growing out of The Wall.

Oh I think fire and ice refers specifically and solely to Jon, but this just always seemed like where the story would end up. There have been constant allusions to the fact that the strongest alliance is marriage in books and show, and Dany and Jon will have the strongest two factions in the coming war.
Plus GRRM and D+D have both regularly said the show and the books will end up in the same place.
