We know from the leaks that Dany inspects the Dragonstone castle in episode 1. What will be her reaction when she comes across the three giant fetuses?
Dragonstone has always been the most gothic storyline in GOT and I think there is symbolic potential here. 3 dead children. 1 for each of her dragons.
I can envision Khaleesi's psyche taking a downward spiral as she wakes up in the middle of the night and sees one of those things staring at her from a dark corner. There could be a jar in every room. Shireen's ghost would also make a cameo - an ashtray voiced by Kerry Ingram.
Psychological stress would explain the Dany + Jon steamy sex scene better than any other working theory. Sex as relief from emotional trauma is common and easily relatable. And no one would complain that they got too close too soon.
