Lord of the Rings didn't have many either, that's because both are largely based off of northern european culture, which is predominantly white.
Minorities however, are present, such as in Essos or in Dorne.
And there ARE black people. Salladhoor Saan? Xaro? Missandei? Grey Worm? the slaver who captured Jorah and Tyrion?
