Just watched it and lots of the details were identical, down to the sick
"birthday present"
line. Glad it didn't portray Homolka as a victim, like the movie did, but rather a co-perpeptrator. In real life her plea bargain had gone through before the video tapes were released, and the defense lawyer was later charged with (and acquitted of) obstruction of justice for withholding the tapes which showed her just as eager a participant as her husband.
