Terrible movie. Also very boring. I didn't even like Goodfellas that much. Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, and King of Comedy. Those were his great films.

Not even close, this was Scorsese making his own version of American Pie or Old School, basically a National Lampoon frat comedy with a Wall Street backdrop.

I thought the Departed was better because it had an actual plot with relatable characters, not just scum-sucking, shallow leeches.

I think it's the best since Goodfellas, and it's Martin's funniest film, especially that part when Leo's character gets arrested while filming a commercial, XD. Never have I laughed so hard while watching a SCORSESE film!

No. Frankly, it is one of his weakest, along with The Departed. Both a shallow, lazy films that don't do anything new that Scorsese hasn't done before.
The Age of Innocence, Shutter Island, & Hugo are above & beyond these films. I'd also say Casino, Bringing Out the Dead, Kundun, Gangs of NY, & The Aviator are also much better.
Some of these films (like The Age of Innocence, or Bringing Out The Dead), get ignored by a lot of so called Scorsese "fans." People that claim to love his work, but only watch either his most famous (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas), or profanity or violent driven stuff, like this & The Departed (of course Goodfellas is violent & full of language, but its a masterpiece). Bringing Out The Dead might not be one of his best, but I find it more interesting than this or The Departed.
I expect Silence to be one of his best, but I can tell that a lot of the people that drool over movies like this won't bother going to see it.

No consequences? No sh@# that's what happens with Wall Street @ssholes. And a bunch of them did go to jail and Jordan lost a lot too. This movie was entertaining as f@#k and there was some character development, but more like characters devolving and not learning from their mistakes and just getting deeper and deeper into sh$%.
This movie perfectly encapsulated what almost every guy, if they were in Jordan's position, would want to do. It's a very honest no BS look at the dark part of our nature where greed and excess are really intoxicating. There wasn't much character development in Goodfellas either but do you hear people complaining about that?

It's just excess, excess, excess and nothing else. No storytelling, no character development, no consequences. It's awful. Totally exhausting to watch in the worst of ways.

Wolf of Wall Street was a huge festering piece of crap. I can't believe this came from a genius director like Scorcese. It's nothing like Goodfellas or Casino. NOTHING! DiCaprio did a great job, as usual, but the film itself was an overlong glorification of bad behavior with no coherent message.

I've never had higher hopes for, or been more disappointed by, a film than I was seeing this in the theatre. Only an extremely immature person and/or Libertarian would see any redeeming qualities or think this was his "best" film since Goodfellas. First of all that would be Casino, and second every other film he's made tops this repugnant movie by far.

Yes totally. I think I saw this film 10 times already, 'The Departed' is close behind though.

I actually like Hugo better as a film than The Departed. The Departed is insanely entertaining but it has one serious flaw: Madolyn (the shrink). The fact that the two women in Infernal Affairs were consolidated into one character was kind of retarded. That being said, of course The Departed is way better than Infernal Affairs. That was one thing they changed that was really stupid.
