Hello.
I've been trying to remember the name of a film, (Probably short film, but I'm really not positive) that played every Christmas or Christmas Eve, but I believe Christmas morning around 7:00 AM in Australia.
I have some memories of this film and will state them below.
This film was about and man and his donkey in a desert. He may have been a wise man, but that was the way he was depicted, even if he was not an official wise man. He came across many obstacles in his journey, but the main part that I remember, is that every time he returned to his donkey, he would pull out a portable set of stairs and place them down to climb onto his donkey, then returned them to his bag or wherever he kept them. These stairs kept appearing throughout the film.
I apologise for the lack of information, and unsureness on some facts, but would love if someone recognised this and could tell me the name of this film from my childhood.
Thanks!

Could it be a version of
The Other Wise Man
? There are multiple versions. I've only seen one version (they used to show it to us in Sunday School in the '70s) and don't remember it well enough to say if it has the stairs.
"Me fail English? That's unpossible."

Not exactly what I thought I remembered, however, looking at the images, it is possible that this is it. I will have to find it somewhere and watch it to be sure. Thanks for your help!

Oh sorry, can't believe I forgot to mention that. It was animated.

Was it animated or live action? That sound like a Merry Melodies/Looney Tunes sort of running gag.
