This is interesting. We see in a flashback (and confirmed in a cast interview) that the reason
Akilah kills her animals, in a plot with Gen, Melissa, and Mari is to instigate a new hunt in order to pull off a coup and kill Shauna. It seems only they were in on it, so regardless of the cards dealt the idea was to kill Shauna during the hunt. Melissa was the executioner, Gen was a diversion, and Mari…well she ended up being the bait, but they could not have known she would actually be picked. Van and Taissa were not in on this plot, and neither were the other girls in on their plot to give the Queen of hearts to Hannah. This also explains why Mari tells Shauna she "deserves everything that's coming to you", because she knows Shauna is about to be killed…well she was supposed to be.
The part that isn't clear is the interaction between Lottie and Mari after Lottie exits the caves with Akilah…Lottie gets run into by Mari and they collide and fall to the ground…
Lottie who seemed thrilled for the new hunt says to her that Mari has been here before (in the immediate area of the pit, which she had fell in previously) and that it could be different this time…presumably that Mari could let it be different by not falling in the pit, so then was this a warning to help Mari? If so, why? Did Lottie also know about the plot to kill Shauna? She knew Akilah killed her animals somehow. Was Lottie OK with anyone dying as long as the wilderness got it's sacrifice? I find that most likely, but it is interesting to give a warning to Mari however cryptic it may have been.
Did any one else notice these things? Any thoughts on them?

It wasn't clear in the episode at all, but Shauna's actress says it here in this post finale clip…but it makes that scene/plot make much more sense, it also ties other things together like I said, Mari saying "You deserve everything that's coming to you" etc.
Video is a spoiler to Season 3 Finale
I think the plot to get Natalie to the mountain didn't fully come together until after Natalie attacks Hannah. Obviously Van, Misty and Natalie…and I expect only them, were secretly working on the device to fix it and use it to call for help. I don't think they had the idea to have Hannah pose as Natalie until after Natalie attacks her and decides to trust and believe that Hannah is on their side. At that point she probably posed the idea to hannah…but it wasn't until after they eat Mari that the switch even occurs, because you can see both Natalie and Hannah exit the circle where they eat.

I didn't see anything leading me to believe the plot was
to kill Shauna.
The way I saw it, they just needed to
distract her from the real plot, which was to get Natalie clear so she could find a place to use the SAT phone.
Lottie was just being cryptic to Mari in the usual Lottie fashion. It was almost a wink to the audience, who obviously expected
Mari to fall into the pit.
She wasn't very bright.
