It wasn't that obvious, I mean we knew it had to be her, Gen, or Hannah. Hannah was definitely a red herring, in fact I would guess the entire reason she was written into the story at all was to be a red herring for pit girl. It wasn't a twist to have her turn out to be Mari, but I thought it was emotionally effective none the less. If it was Hannah there would be nothing really at stake, same with Gen because she is still a largely under developed character. Mari is a sad loss, she brought a lot of funny little moments to the show.

. I always expect too much from shows and I'm left waiting for a shocking twist or reveal and it never happens.
