If you call the phone number that appears on the ice cream shop commercial where the Man With No Eyes appears, there is a secret message in Morse code that goes, "The screams are not what they seem".
Throughout the latest season, the Yellowjackets and Travis have constantly been hearing screaming noises in the woods, so obviously this is what the message is referring to. The last time they heard the screams, it was
just as the two strangers appeared and said hello to them as they were howling in response.
There's a theory going around that these "screams" are linked to both
the strangers
and the carton of supplies that coach Ben found a few episodes ago.
Remember when Van suddenly had a realization when birders were mentioned as the kinds of folks who carry around DAT recorders? The theory is that there is a species of screeching owl living in the woods and that
the strangers are actually part of a scientific team that has had a sort of outpost in the woods to study and record the owls. They guy appears to be wearing a DAT recorder, too.
Yet another plausible alternative to a supernatural explanation, at least.

I'm pretty sure we know what the creams on the DAT tape are now, what I'm curious about is who sent it. The DAT had to belong to the conservationists (I am fairly sure that is what those people will end up being), and I'm having a strong suspicion that they will not remain in possession of it for long in the past timeline, so who held onto it into the present is the question. I have a running theory on what exactly is behind all of the events taking place in the present but I want to keep that theory to myself for now.
