Started watching this show a little late, but I just finished season 2. My theory is that they are deleting people, putting their essence into the goats, and killing the goats. What their ultimate goal is, I'm still not sure. They say they want to remove pain from people, but they are deleting seemingly ALL memories of people, not just painful ones (a la Lacuna Inc)…We don't know what was to become of Gemma after the completion of cold harbor, but as it was completed at least on Mark's end, and nearly completed before being interrupted on both Gemma's end as well as on the goat's end, I imagine they would've used her as a blank slate for someone else's mind to be implanted into, maybe this is all about extending life for elite members of society? I have to rewatch the series from the beginning to see all the details I may have missed. Others' theories?
