Well Lucas is an idiot and the only reason why the OT was good was because of people like Marcia Lucas and Irvin Kershner. Lucas can't direct or write for **** which is why nobody likes the prequels.
Disney had to pay Harrison Ford a ****load of money for a character he no interest in. Mark Hamill was unhappy with his part as Luke and even tried to publicly express his disappointment in the way his character was handled in the sequel trilogy so you really have no valid arguments.

Lady Gaga has won a Golden Globe, an Oscar and has been nominated multiple times for an Emmy. That's not even including the many Grammy awards she has won for her music. She can choose any project she wants and only picks things that usually end up highly praised critically and highly nominated for awards. She has enough money and power to produce her own movies if she wanted. So yes she has her pick of whatever she wants to do. And she usually only picks things which are top notch.

I like Gaga just as much as a moderate fan, but truthfully Gaga is not highly selective.
Hollywood is highly selective and it just doesn't take her all that seriously enough to be one of them. Not every Grammy Award winning singer and Oscar nominated singer/actress is a BARBARA STREISAND or Judy Garland.
Gaga is out of league.

It's very risky to make it a musical. However Joaquin Phoenix has already shown his capable singing skills in the highly lauded film, Walk the Line. And Lady Gaga, clearly vocally talented, is highly selective when it comes to which projects she accepts. After the tremendous success of the previous Joker, however, this is setting up to be another blockbuster. We'll have to wait and see.
