When the father brings Esther to the ER for her broken arm. What did the father tell them? If he said his wife did it, CPS wouldn't have even let them leave the hospital.
When the mother smacked the living daylights outta Esther in the hospital with all those witnesses. Again, CPS would have shown up. Healthcare workers by law have to notify CPS, even of suspected child abuse. This they clearly saw.
I understand that introducing this subplot would have compromised the story a bit, but it still stuck out like a sore thumb.
You got the wrong guy, mang. I don't come off no banana boat.

I think that's automatically what we're supposed to assume.

I read a theory that the hospital staff assumed that Kate had slapped Esther who just looked like an innocent little girl drinking a soda because she had temporarily snapped due to her only son being in ICU and decided to sedate her rather than to call the cops on her.
Drake is repetitive. He just raps the same thing over and over as if he is in 5 e insane asylum!LOL:D

Good grief, of course the dad wouldn't say the mom did it. So the hospital people would only have seen her hit her later on, and the dad would have covered for her and said she was under severe duress.
