I was already it just happened 2/3 way through the large Bryan Burroughs book when this movie came on a day ago and I watched it again, after first seeing it @ 5 years back.
It seems completely cocked-up on the manner and chronology of both Nelson's and Floyd's deathsespecially showing Nelson being killed during the Little Bohemia debacle.( they do not even identify the bystanders killed in that car when shooting begins, and the recriminations that this botched raid had at the FBI )
Also showing Purvis as a rootin' tootin' competent gunslinger..Purvis may have been rightly worried that most FBI agents were green-horn soft-handed college boys who often had never even fired a gun and were always likely to get their asses handed to them in confrontations with very hardened outlaws,
but that also applied to himself.
