The lights of the truck coming in the gas station reminded me of the scene in Close Encounters of the alien 'truck lights' that come up behind Richard Dreyfus truck ..a foreshadowing to it being aliens at the end?

And yet that stopped mattering and the movie fell off a cliff into aliens and splosions!!
A completely different movie broke out and the entire side story of whoever the girl was stopped mattering at all.

Well, I felt bad for the guy. He tries to save this woman and she totally betrays him. I feel like in his place I would have done everything basically the same.

Well yeah, we found that out when we discovered he had kidnapped that girl years earlier.
Didn't we know this all along after we were shown that part?
It was clear he had an obsession over getting his daughter back - so he kidnapped girls who looked like her.
