Watching the trailer it looks pretty gory and Val Kilmer seems to appear in the film for about 10 minutes. There's a little filmcover at the left side which shows us the name VAL KILMER in big letters, trying to make you believe that he's the leading actor. But just like in "Mindhunters" he plays a minor role that gets top billed. That means he is just there to help selling the movie, kind of a favour. Same thing with "Moscow Zero", "Played", "Hard Cash" or as mentioned "Mindhunters". I mean it's the producers right to do so but I also think that it sucks for the audience that will buy a movie because it's marketed with a big hollywood name. Shame! But it's Val Kilmer in it, so I guess I will see it anyways.

Kilmer's character is vital to the entire plot/movie. His screen-time is fairly minimal, but it's not that bad. He plays a key role in the beginning and ending of the film.
The one character who gets no credit is Viv Leacock (Bart). He was in the film more than Steph Song (Ling) and Val Kilmer (Kuipen), and at least as much as Kyle Schmid (Freddie).
Good movie. I enjoyed it. Some dumb decisions by the kids, but what horror movie doesn't have that? It's part of the fun.

I don't think the poster is misleading at all, it says "and Val Kilmer" at the end of the list of actors making it completely obvious that his presence on the movie is minimal.

I totally agree. So mad. I wanted to see an actual actor in a movie with a decent plot. Instead, I got the same beep as usual. Buncha teenagers running aroung having make-up sex and making bad decisions. Goddammit. Doncha hate it when movies do that? LIE out there ass pretty much saying things like real actors are actually gonna have some screen time.

what happened to kilmer? He used to star in good movies, be a lead and now he's just an over weight actor in desperate need of a good film. kind of sad when you think about it.

I agree with all points noted except for the "Mindhunters" comparison as the original cut of Mindhunters was 20+ minutes longer with significant screen time for Kilmer's character and also an alternate ending with him in it. The official website (no longer up) even had several pictures from those scenes in questions with the most notable one being Kilmer talking to two agents in an office and another in which he speaks with LL Cool J's character before the helicopter ride to the island.

Well Val Kilmer agreed to this film in a supporting role. It's a low budget film and I don't the producers had any intention to get a big named star.
What's shameful is that this film won't get a wide releases, at least I hope so.
