I've seen some tenuous attempts to link films to existing successes in my time - my all-time "favourite" being one dodgy promoter's staggeringly cheeky attempt to link one of the "Blind Dead" films to the "Planet of the Apes" movies - but I'd really love to see this film's bold claim backed up.
I'm very familiar with the Evil Dead films and I don't spot one name in common. Maybe the caterer was the son of a guy who once made a sandwich for Rob Tapert?

Thanks for clearing that up Wow, that's tenuous to the point of outright dishonesty, isn't it? Especially when it's printed in large type on the front cover of a UK DVD, for which that already-tenuous distribution connection isn't even true.
"Brought to you by the distribution company that is owned by the makers of the Evil Dead Trilogy! (claim applicable to North America only)" doesn't have quite the same ring to it XD

Ghost House Underground, the North American distribution company for this film, is Sam Raimi's & Rob Tapert's company. That's the connection.
