Then this should also be a dream but we very, very rarely have another dream that relates to a previous one.
So if it is not a dream then how do they explain how this is supposed to be real?

The racist 1978 version with Diana Ross makes into a dream only a poor black girl could have. She dreams Oz is an amusement park in the city.
The white director thinks this the only thing a black child would know and the Wizard being on television.
It is not a dream in the James Franco movie. It takes place in Oz before Dorothy ever goes there. There is no Dorothy in the story.

The 1939 movie implies it was a dream but it was never explicitly stated. The books have stories that exist without Dorothy so that would indicate it's not a dream of hers.
